Nottingham Forest loanee Gonzalo Montiel has been ordered to return to Argentina for a psychiatric evaluation following allegations of rape. The incident, involving Montiel, 27, and a model, allegedly occurred at his birthday party on January 1, 2019, while he played for River Plate.

Montiel, who denies the accusations, and his friend Alexis Acosta, also under investigation, are accused of drugging and raping the woman. The accuser claims threats from Montiel’s relatives followed the incident. Montiel must attend psychiatric evaluations on September 17 and 20, while Acosta’s sessions are on September 2 and 5. The accuser’s lawyer, Raquel Hermida, demanded these evaluations, citing irregularities in the case.

Hermida also released a video in April where the alleged victim described the incident, alleging Montiel’s involvement. Despite the ongoing investigation, Forest signed Montiel from Sevilla, stating they were satisfied after due diligence. Montiel’s voluntary statement denying wrongdoing was conducted under oath, and no indictments have been submitted yet.
