Olivier Giroud has announced he will leave AC Milan in the summer, preparing for a new chapter in the MLS with LAFC. The former Arsenal and Chelsea striker, 37, spent three seasons with Milan, winning the Serie A title in 2022 and scoring 48 goals in 130 games.
In an emotional interview on Milan TV, Giroud confirmed his departure, saying, “I’m here to tell you that the next two games will be my last for Milan. My career will continue in the MLS. It’s the right time to announce it. Excuse me, I’m a bit emotional.” Giroud’s final game for Milan will be against Salernitana on May 26. His contract with Milan expires in June, and he will join LAFC until December 2025.
At LAFC, he will reunite with former Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris. Giroud, France’s all-time top scorer, has also enjoyed success at Arsenal and Chelsea, winning multiple trophies and scoring 105 goals in 253 appearances for the Gunners.
