This summer, there’s anticipation for a change in AC Milan’s coaching staff, as Stefano Pioli faces consequences for the team’s failure to secure significant trophies. While Pioli is poised to depart from San Siro, the experienced Serie A-winning coach remains optimistic about Milan’s future.

American internationals Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah aim to contribute to Milan’s future success. Pioli emphasized their potential following a convincing 5-1 victory over Cagliari, stating, “We have players with immense potential. Sometimes, they showcase it on the field, while other times, they do not. Individual talents can help overcome challenges, but our approach has always been team-oriented.”

Pulisic’s stellar performance against Cagliari, where he scored twice, brings his tally to 15 goals in what has been his best season yet. However, when questioned about whether new signings from 2023 have outshone the established players this season, Pioli disagreed. He remarked, “I do not agree. No team managed to maintain the incredible level of performance and results that Inter did. This is a squad that gave its all, but couldn’t maintain the same consistency as Inter and therefore could not stay close enough to keep it open during those decisive moments of the campaign. We also lost confidence, but Inter were a level ahead of everyone, not just us.”

With two games remaining in the season and a second-place finish secured in Serie A, Pulisic and others are eager to play significant roles in Milan’s upcoming 2024-25 campaign. The incoming coach is expected to recognize and utilize Pulisic’s numerous qualities within the team setup.
