Several reports from Italy indicate that Leonardo Spinazzola’s season has concluded following a diagnosis of a thigh flexor lesion, potentially marking his last game with Roma against Bayer Leverkusen.

Italian media outlets such as Sky Sport Italia and Tuttosport confirm that Spinazzola will sit out the remainder of the season due to a flexor muscle injury in his right thigh.

Spinazzola was substituted early in Roma’s recent Europa League fixture against Bayer Leverkusen and will be sidelined for the team’s final three matches of the 2023-24 season.

Roma’s upcoming fixtures include a crucial clash against Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium, a home game against Genoa at the Olimpico, and an away trip to Empoli at the Stadio Castellani.

Given that Spinazzola’s contract expires in June 2024, the match against Leverkusen may have marked his farewell appearance for Roma.

The decision regarding his future with Roma remains uncertain, although his agent, Davide Lippi, indicated in January that a contract extension with the Giallorossi was unlikely.

Additionally, Spinazzola was not anticipated to be selected for Euro 2024, as he has not previously been included in the Azzurri squad under Luciano Spalletti.
