Darwin Nunez, the Liverpool forward, has been spotted in Barcelona, sparking speculation about a potential transfer to the Spanish giants. SunSport recently revealed that Nunez is a surprise target for Barcelona this summer. His visit to Barcelona comes shortly after he deleted all pictures of himself playing for Liverpool from his Instagram page.
Nunez’s presence in Barcelona has further fueled speculation, especially as he was seen linking up with his Uruguayan international teammate Ronald Araujo, who currently plays for Barcelona. Araujo shared a selfie of the pair on Instagram, captioned “Mi Hermano” (My Brother), indicating a close relationship between the two players. Barcelona is reportedly considering Nunez as a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski if the striker leaves the club.
There is the belief that Liverpool would be willing to sell Nunez to bolster incoming manager Arne Slot’s transfer budget. Despite facing criticism from rival fans, Nunez has had a productive season, scoring 18 goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions, making him one of Liverpool’s key players. His contract at Anfield runs for another four years, having joined from Benfica in 2022.
