Napoli have apparently halted their pursuit of Antonio Conte due to Chelsea’s interest in him resurfacing. Reports suggest that Todd Boehly’s Chelsea have been actively engaging with the Italian coach in hopes of persuading him to return to West London, seeking a replacement for the underwhelming Mauricio Pochettino.

Conte, who has been jobless since departing Tottenham in March last year, has been strongly linked with a comeback to Serie A, particularly with Milan and Napoli expressing serious interest.

However, according to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Napoli has opted to step back from their pursuit of Conte and redirect their focus towards alternative coaching options for the upcoming season. They plan to unveil their new head coach at the season’s end.

With Conte no longer in contention, Stefano Pioli of Milan could potentially emerge as the primary candidate, although the situation may also hinge on developments in Lombardy’s capital city.
