Newcastle United is reportedly nearing a deal to sign Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer. The 26-year-old has been offered a lucrative long-term contract at St James’ Park, with wages exceeding £100,000 per week.
Adarabioyo, a former Manchester City youth product, has expressed his desire to leave Fulham when his contract expires this summer, having rejected a new deal from the club. He was omitted from Fulham’s squad for their recent match against Crystal Palace and is not expected to feature in their remaining games of the season under manager Marco Silva. Despite interest from several clubs, including Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and AC Milan, Newcastle’s recruitment team has been monitoring Adarabioyo closely. The move comes as Newcastle seeks to bolster their defense following Sven Botman’s serious knee injury.
Adarabioyo joined Fulham in October 2020 for a fee of around £2 million and has since made 129 appearances for the club. Although he struggled with injuries earlier this season, he has been a key figure in Silva’s team in recent months.
