Zlatan Ibrahimovic has assumed a prominent role in Milan’s contract discussions with teenage talent Francesco Camarda, who has garnered interest from Manchester City.

The 16-year-old forward, who has been part of the Rossoneri setup for nine years, has emerged as one of Italy’s most promising youngsters this season, tallying 13 goals and four assists in 37 appearances for the Primavera team.

Milan had aimed to secure Camarda’s first professional contract when he turned 16 in March, but negotiations hit a snag amid attention from Manchester City and Bayern Munich, causing concern among supporters.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, talks between Camarda’s representatives and Milan took a turn when Ibrahimovic, acting as an advisor for RedBird, intervened, expressing reservations about the agent fees requested by Giuseppe Riso.

The former Swedish international also scrutinized the initial contract terms, advocating for a different financial approach for the teenager.

Despite the challenges, Ibrahimovic and Milan remain optimistic about reaching a new deal with Camarda before his contract expires on June 30th.
