David De Gea has hinted at a possible return to football after being spotted in a training session at an English non-league club. The Spanish goalkeeper, who left Manchester United last summer after 12 years, has been without a club since then.

De Gea, who was part of United’s last title-winning squad, has been linked with moves to clubs in Saudi Arabia, Newcastle, and Real Betis in Spain. Despite being without a club, the 33-year-old has continued to train and stay in shape, recently training at his local non-league side Altrincham. The goalkeeper’s future has been a topic of speculation, with former United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar offering his support. Van der Sar, who went through a similar situation in 2001 before joining Fulham and then United, encouraged De Gea to “keep the faith.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Graeme Souness criticized United’s decision to let De Gea leave for free and bring in Andre Onana, suggesting that the money spent on the new goalkeeper could have been used more effectively elsewhere.
