Ralf Rangnick Linked With Bayern Munich Managerial Role After Thomas Tuchel's Departure

Former Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick is reportedly being considered as a potential successor to Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich. Tuchel is set to leave the Allianz Arena this summer after a relatively short stint of 15 months.

Bayern Munich’s disappointing season, which saw them lose the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 years, has prompted the search for a new manager. According to reports from German outlet TZ, Rangnick has emerged as a leading candidate for the position. If negotiations progress smoothly, Rangnick could finalize a deal this week, with the transition expected to occur after Euro 2024. Currently managing the Austria national team since April 2022, Rangnick previously served as United’s interim manager following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure.

During his tenure at Old Trafford, Rangnick oversaw 29 games, winning 11 and suffering nine defeats. With managerial experience at clubs like Stuttgart, Schalke, and RB Leipzig, Rangnick brings a wealth of expertise to the table.
