David Moyes Blames West Ham Players For Unacceptable Performance In Palace Defeat

West Ham manager David Moyes criticized his players for an “unacceptable” performance in their 5-2 defeat to Crystal Palace. Moyes, whose contract is expiring in the summer, expressed disappointment and embarrassment over his team’s display, accusing them of lacking toughness and pride.

The defeat against Palace adds to a string of poor performances this season, including heavy losses to Fulham and Arsenal, and a collapse against Newcastle after being 3-1 up. Moyes stated, “The first half was as bad as I have seen us play… I don’t think the team in the three years I have been here have gone to the depths in the three or four games this year.” He lamented the loss of the team’s tough culture and pride, emphasizing the need to be difficult opposition.

When asked about his future, Moyes insisted that the defeat would not impact his decision. He acknowledged that if the decision was taken out of his hands, he would accept it. In contrast, Palace manager Oliver Glasner praised his team’s performance, describing it as “amazing” and highlighting their balance and effectiveness against a strong opposition like West Ham.
