Roma’s forward Tammy Abraham openly acknowledges that he wasn’t fully prepared to step into Romelu Lukaku’s shoes during the first half against Milan yesterday, stating, “I had to swiftly adjust and mentally prepare myself.”

Abraham was brought in as a substitute during Roma’s 2-1 victory over Milan last night, filling in for the injured Romelu Lukaku.

Having recently returned to the pitch after a serious knee injury sustained in June 2023, the English player wasn’t anticipating such an early appearance against Milan.

“It was difficult because I wasn’t ready at the time. I had to quickly get ready and get myself mentally ready.” Abraham explained to Roma’s official TV.

Despite the unexpected circumstances, Abraham aimed to contribute as much as possible to the team’s effort and feels satisfied with his performance, though he believes there is room for improvement.

Looking ahead to Roma’s upcoming semi-final match against Bayer Leverkusen, Abraham anticipates a competitive encounter, expressing confidence in his team by stating, “fear nobody.”
