Walker has been absent from the club’s last five matches in all competitions due to a hamstring injury sustained during the international break, while Ake incurred a calf injury during the team’s draw against Arsenal. Despite this, both defenders were part of the matchday squad against Luton Town over the weekend. Guardiola has now provided an update on their current status.

Addressing the media ahead of the pivotal match against Los Blancos, the City boss stated, “I am going to wait and see the training and in the last one or two training sessions see how he looks. But he looks good, his face, his mood. I don’t know from the bench, from the beginning [of the match] if he will be with us tomorrow. But that’s incredibly good news. We have the final training at 4 and then we will decide.”

In addition to this, the reigning European champions will see the return of midfielder Rodri to the lineup after he was rested for the Premier League fixture. The Spaniard had requested a break from Guardiola following the exhaustion he felt post the Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Following the encounter with Carlo Ancelotti’s side on Wednesday, Guardiola’s squad will gear up for a crucial FA Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea on Saturday.
