Mauricio Pochettino expressed his disappointment with Chelsea players Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson for their petulant argument over a penalty kick during a match against Everton. Despite leading 4-0, the players clashed over who would take the spot-kick, prompting Pochettino to warn that such behavior would not be tolerated in the future.

“It’s a shame,” Pochettino said. “We can’t behave in this way. This is the last time I will accept this type of behavior.” The incident marred a stellar performance by Cole Palmer, who scored four goals to move joint top in the Golden Boot race. However, the shine was taken off Palmer’s feat by the penalty dispute. Madueke, Jackson, and Palmer all contested for the penalty, with Madueke eventually snatching the ball from Malo Gusto’s hands and arguing with Jackson.

Pochettino emphasized the need for a collective mentality, stating, “If we want to be a great team, fighting for big things, we need to change and think more in a collective way.” Despite the incident, Palmer’s performance was praised, and he remains a strong contender for England’s Euro squad. However, Everton’s James Tarkowski expressed embarrassment over the performance, while manager Sean Dyche labeled it a “horrid night.”
