Fans stormed the pitch at full-time, and the players continued the festivities in the dressing room. This title marks Leverkusen’s first-ever top-flight crown and their first trophy since 1993.

Despite the possibility of winning a treble, with the DFB-Pokal final and Europa League semi-finals still to come, the players were fully immersed in their celebrations. Manager Xabi Alonso was drenched in beer twice, first by Josip StaniΕ‘iΔ‡ in the dressing room and then by the entire team during his press conference. Star full-back Jeremie Frimpong live-streamed parts of the celebrations, including a moment where he teased former Arsenal star Granit Xhaka. Frimpong joked, “You came from Arsenal and you won it here,” before splashing beer on Edmond Tapsoba.

Meanwhile, West Ham fans on social media joined in the revelry, encouraging Leverkusen to “drink up” ahead of their Europa League second leg. The Hammers are currently 2-0 down after the first leg. Leverkusen’s celebrations were part of a weekend filled with wild celebrations, as Wrexham also celebrated back-to-back promotions after securing their spot in League One.
