The American national team player has had an impressive season, achieving his personal best with 13 goals across various competitions. Once again, Pulisic was included in the starting lineup as AC Milan faced off against local rivals in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Although Pulisic struggled against Roma, contributing to Milan’s 1-0 loss at San Siro, he remained on the pitch until the 78th minute. At that juncture, Pioli opted to shake things up by bringing on Samuel Chukwueze in hopes of finding an equalizer.

When questioned about the timing of his substitutions, particularly why Pulisic and Rafael Leao were replaced simultaneously, Pioli explained to reporters, “Pulisic and Leao have confidence. Players like them, even on a difficult evening, can make an important play. I made the changes when I thought it was right.”

With Milan’s hopes for major silverware hanging in the balance, Pulisic will be determined to conclude his first season in Italy with a championship. However, Pioli’s side will need to deliver a vastly improved performance as they head to Stadio Olimpico on April 18th.
