Ruben Amorim, the current Sporting Lisbon boss, has reportedly reached an agreement in principle to become the next manager of Liverpool, replacing Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season. Despite Liverpool denying any agreement, there is speculation that negotiations with Sporting Lisbon are ongoing.

Amorim, 39, has impressed during his time at Sporting and is said to be eager to join Liverpool, with a deal potentially keeping him at Anfield until 2027. However, the details are yet to be finalized, and negotiations with Sporting could impact the final agreement. Liverpool are hopeful of securing Amorim for a reduced fee, with his release clause believed to be £25 million but potentially dropping to £17 million for clubs outside Portugal. The news of Amorim’s potential arrival comes after he was linked with other top clubs, including Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

Sporting is currently leading the Portuguese first division under Amorim’s leadership, and the coach has hinted that his time at the club may be coming to an end. If the deal goes through, Amorim will take over from Klopp, who announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the season after a successful tenure.
