The Premier League champions are set to play at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, while Arsenal will simultaneously host Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium. Extensive measures are being taken to ensure the safety of these matches.

According to La Vanguardia, over 1,270 security personnel have been deployed to Madrid due to increased ISIS threats targeting high-profile European fixtures.

Fernando Grand-Marlaska, Head of The Ministry of the Interior, stated, “In terms of preventing the terrorist threat, the State Security Forces and Bodies have activated all their early warning and protection systems, as well as all their response mechanisms ready and willing.”

More than 2,000 agents from the National Police and Civil Guard, along with Municipal Police, will safeguard players, coaches, and spectators.

ISIS allegedly issued threats against all four Champions League quarter-final ties, including Arsenal’s match with Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium, as reported by The Telegraph.

UEFA responded officially, asserting that all matches will proceed as scheduled with appropriate security measures in place.

The extensive security operation in Spain will also cover Atletico Madrid’s encounter with Borussia Dortmund at the Metropolitano Stadium, and Paris Saint-Germain hosting Barcelona in another quarter-final match.
