Edurne Garcia, wife of former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, has shared a surprising detail about their wedding last year, describing how they “kidnapped” their guests as part of the celebration.

In an appearance on the Spanish show “El Hormiguero,” Edurne explained the unique idea behind their wedding, which took place in July 2023, coinciding with De Gea’s contract expiration at Old Trafford. She revealed, “My intention was to get married once in my life and I was clear that it had to be big and something that represented David and me.” After the cocktail party, Edurne surprised their guests by “kidnapping” them and putting them in vans. She continued, “There were like 20 kidnappers. I’m very playful, I like to play. I like escape rooms, I like people to have a good time.”

Edurne’s creativity didn’t stop there. She had prepared a series of games and activities for the guests, including versions of “Pac-Man” and “Fortnite,” as well as a zip line and foam party. Despite the unconventional twist, she ensured that everyone had a great time and created lasting memories from their special day.
