Having been absent since the injury, the 28-year-old made his return to Pep Guardiola’s squad earlier this week for their FA Cup quarter-final clash against Newcastle United. However, he remained sidelined during the match, which ended in a narrow 2-0 victory for the defending champions.
Grealish encountered challenges upon his arrival at Guardiola’s team, but he eventually regained his top form, becoming a key player for the Spanish manager during their successful campaign last season. Nonetheless, his significance in the squad has diminished this season following the acquisition of Jeremy Doku last summer and the increased utilization of Phil Foden in his preferred position.
Despite his absence from Gareth Southgate’s England squad during the recent international break due to injury, Grealish will have ample time to recuperate before Man City’s upcoming Premier League encounter against Arsenal on March 31st.
