The Portuguese football sensation showcased his prowess once more during a 3-2 triumph over Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League on Sunday. In the midst of the match, the five-time Ballon d’Or recipient reacted to the crowd’s chants invoking the name of his perennial rival, Lionel Messi.

A video capturing Ronaldo’s response to the spectators has surfaced, showing him gesturing towards the stands after successfully converting a penalty against Al-Shabab — his 34th goal of the season. Concerns have been raised about the influence of such actions on the younger audience present, prompting calls for intervention from authorities in the Middle East.

While Al-Nassr is eager to defend their iconic captain against any allegations, the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi football federation has initiated an inquiry. They will carefully review all available evidence before reaching a verdict on the matter.

As per reports from Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, citing committee sources, a decision is expected within the next 48 hours. The committee is determined to address the situation promptly, given the disappointment and anger expressed by many Saudis over Ronaldo’s alleged behavior.

Should Ronaldo be found guilty, he could face suspension, potentially sidelining him for crucial matches as Al-Nassr continues to vie with Al-Hilal for the top spot in the Saudi Pro League. Conversely, if cleared of wrongdoing, the five-time Ballon d’Or awardee will resume action against Al-Hazm on Thursday.
