Inter will face Lecce in tomorrow’s Serie A match without goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who is sidelined due to flu. Emil Audero will step in as his replacement.

The game is set to commence at the Stadio Via del Mare on Sunday at 17:00 GMT.

Concerns lingered for Sommer in recent days, but Sky Sport Italia reports that the Swiss international departed the training camp prematurely and was sent home to recover.

As a result, he won’t even travel to Lecce, leaving Audero as the designated goalkeeper for the match.

For Audero, this marks his Serie A debut in an Inter jersey, having previously featured in only two matches for the club in the Champions League and Coppa Italia. These include a 3-3 draw with Benfica and a 2-1 defeat to Bologna in extra time.

Furthermore, Inter will be missing Marcus Thuram due to injury, and Alessandro Bastoni might be rested to avoid suspension, as he is one yellow card away from being suspended.

Simone Inzaghi will need to rotate the squad to some extent, given their rescheduled Serie A fixture against Atalanta scheduled for Wednesday.
