According to reports from AS, the head of Paris Saint-Germain has privately acknowledged that Kylian Mbappe has already reached an agreement with Real Madrid and will be joining them at the conclusion of the current season. Furthermore, he has directed the club not to extend any further contract offers to the player.
According to Marca, Real Madrid initiated contact with the talented French forward in early January to ascertain his interest in joining them for the upcoming season. Upon receiving verbal confirmation from Mbappe, the club commenced negotiations with both him and his mother and agent, Fayza Lamari. It is reported that the Spanish powerhouse intends to present Mbappe to their supporters in July.
Despite persistent efforts by the Ligue 1 champions to persuade the 25-year-old to renew his contract since the start of the 2023/24 season, Mbappe has declined to sign an extension. Such an agreement would have prevented him from leaving the club as a free agent in the summer of 2024. The French national team captain has now informed his teammates that he plans to depart on a free transfer.
Mbappe has been in excellent form throughout the current season, netting 32 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions. His next appearance for the club is scheduled for Sunday’s Ligue 1 fixture against Rennes.
