According to The Sun, Crystal Palace has reached an agreement with former Frankfurt manager Glasner, following a health scare that led to Hodgson being hospitalized. The former England boss fell ill during Thursday’s training session amid intense speculation about his future. The report suggests that the two parties have decided to part ways, with Paddy McCarthy set to take charge of Monday night’s clash against Everton.

In light of Hodgson’s health issues, Palace is reportedly sensitive to the timing of announcing a new manager. Consequently, it remains unclear when Glasner will officially move to Selhurst Park. Although he won’t be in the dugout for the Everton match, Glasner has agreed to a contract until 2026 with a salary of £4 million ($5m).

Glasner, who hails from Austria, began his career in his homeland with SV Ried and LASK before transitioning to Germany, where he managed both Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. He notably secured the Europa League title during the 2021-22 season with the latter club.

Palace faces Everton amidst uncertainty regarding its managerial situation and aims for a crucial victory. Currently positioned 15th in the league, Palace holds a slim five-point lead over 18th-placed Everton.
