The press conference scheduled for Thursday had to be called off as the manager fell ill during the day’s training session. According to The Telegraph, the 76-year-old has shown signs of improvement since then, walking without assistance and engaging with medical professionals, although further medical examinations are planned. Nonetheless, he will not be overseeing Monday’s match against Everton, with assistants Paddy McCarthy and Ray Lewington expected to assume leadership roles.

The club released a statement on their website, confirming Roy Hodgson’s illness during the training session and assuring that he is presently in stable condition and undergoing tests in the hospital. The entire club extends its heartfelt wishes to Roy for a swift recovery.

Palace is reportedly contemplating a managerial change amidst their disappointing performance this season. Currently sitting 15th in the league standings and five points above the relegation zone, the Selhurst Park club is contemplating the recruitment of former Eintracht Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner as Hodgson’s successor in the upcoming weeks.

Palace is set to visit Goodison Park for a crucial fixture against Everton, a game of significant importance for both teams. Everton currently sits third from the bottom in the Premier League, and victory for either side could significantly boost their chances of avoiding relegation.
