Patrick Bamford found himself at the center of controversy as he appeared to score with his elbow during Leeds’ 3-0 victory over Rotherham. The former England star, who has been regaining his scoring touch in recent weeks, put Leeds ahead in the tenth minute of the match. The goal came after a well-worked move down the left side, with Junior Firpo delivering a cross into the box.

As the ball bounced up after deflecting off a Rotherham player, Bamford attempted to poke it home from close range, seemingly using his chest and elbow in the process. Despite the unclear contact, Bamford celebrated by jumping with his elbow extended, much to the delight of Leeds fans. While some hailed the goal, others criticized it, with Rotherham boss Leam Richardson expressing frustration and claiming it should not have been allowed to stand.

Richardson argued that it was a clear handball and expected the referee to disallow it, especially after Bamford admitted that the ball had hit his arm. Despite the controversy, Leeds proudly shared the goal on social media, emphasizing that “They all count!”

Here is the highlight video of Leeds United vs. Rotherham, which ended with a 3-0 victory for Leeds.
