The captain of the England national team made a significant shift from his familiar surroundings in north London at Tottenham, completing a €100 million (£85m/$108m) transfer to Germany during the summer of 2023. Initially, he undertook this move alone, spending several months incurring substantial expenses while staying in a £10,000-a-night suite at the luxurious Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Hotel before his young family joined him at the beginning of 2024.

Reflecting on his early days in Munich, Kane shared with PA Sport the challenges of being without a support system: “It wasn’t easy, the first four or five months being in the hotel and being away from the family. That was for sure difficult so I was proud of the way I was still able to perform on the pitch in those circumstances. We’ve had a good winter break and everyone came back with me, the kids are in school, we have got the house. Month by month it starts to feel more like home, you meet parents at school, my wife is meeting new friends and you just start to meet new people and see new things. Everyone has been fantastic, all the fans here, the club have been great and trying to make me welcome and so far it is nothing but praise for everyone here.”

Since then, Kane and Kate have relocated to a £30 million ($38m) hilltop mansion and are enjoying weekends skiing with their children in the Alps. Despite the snowy weather, the 30-year-old striker eagerly anticipates returning to one of his favorite pastimes: golf. Kane mentioned, “We’ve been struggling with the snow, and I don’t think the golf courses open here until March, so I’ve been using the golf simulator and trying to stay in decent shape for now. I’m looking forward to it, feeling more settled with the family, the kids in school. The next step is to find the golf courses when I have some free time with friends.”

While excelling in his role at Bayern, Kane has already netted 28 goals in 27 appearances. He made the move to the Allianz Arena with the aim of securing coveted silverware and will have an opportunity to edge closer to Bundesliga glory in a pivotal match against current leaders Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
