Dusan Vlahovic is poised for a substantial salary increase starting in the summer, prompting Juventus to actively pursue a new extended contract for the striker in order to manage his wages more efficiently.

The 24-year-old Serbian forward has recently displayed a remarkable run of form while playing for Juventus, notably scoring seven goals in their last seven Serie A matches. However, his performance in the Derby d’Italia was underwhelming, contributing to his team’s disappointing 1-0 loss.

Vlahovic currently earns approximately €8m net annually, but this figure is set to rise to €12m starting in July. With two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract with Juventus, renegotiating presents a significant financial challenge for the club.

According to reports, Juventus are actively pursuing an extension of Vlahovic’s contract until June 2028 or 2029, with a potential increase in salary to around €10m net, inclusive of additional bonuses. This move aims to distribute his earnings more evenly, spreading them from €24m over two years to €50m over five.

However, Juventus faces a dilemma as Vlahovic, at 24, might opt to reject the offer and wait for potential transfer opportunities in the future. This strategy could potentially leave Juventus vulnerable, considering he would be a free agent at the peak of his career by the age of 26.
