According to Marca, Rudiger sustained a thigh injury during the recent victory against Getafe and has not resumed training since. Consequently, manager Ancelotti has devised a backup strategy, considering Nacho Fernandez and Dani Carvajal as potential center-backs, as reported by The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana.

In La Liga this season, Rudiger has participated in 21 matches and missed only one due to suspension, the 5-1 triumph over Valencia. Despite being limited to a 45-minute appearance against Getafe, it appears likely that he will be absent from the upcoming Madrid derby.

Since joining Real in 2022, Rudiger has amassed 83 appearances for the club and secured several accolades, including the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the Spanish Cup, and the Spanish Super Cup. Real Madrid remains hopeful for Rudiger’s swift recovery, especially as they currently lead La Liga, holding a two-point advantage over Girona and a ten-point lead over third-placed Atletico.
