Andrea Belotti has officially made the move to Fiorentina on loan from Roma, marking a fresh beginning for him in the second half of this season.
The 30-year-old Italian forward has joined Vincenzo Italiano’s Viola on a six-month loan contract valued at approximately €750,000, without an option to buy included. His playing time with the Giallorossi this season has been limited, starting only six Serie A matches out of 14 appearances.
Last summer, Fiorentina brought in M’Bala Nzola from Spezia for about €12 million to strengthen their attacking line. However, the Angolan striker’s performance has been disappointing, scoring just four goals in 1640 minutes of play across 30 matches in all competitions.
Today’s confirmation solidifies Belotti’s transfer to Fiorentina, where he will be integrated into Italiano’s team ahead of their Serie A encounter with Lecce on February 2. He underwent no further medical examinations, as the Viola were content with the test results from the previous summer and recent months.
Belotti’s stint at Roma has been rather underwhelming since his arrival on a free transfer 18 months ago, managing only 10 goals in 68 games.
