Newcastle United’s right-back, Kieran Trippier, will not be making a move to Bayern Munich as the Germans failed to meet the Magpies’ financial demands. The rejected bid amounted to £12.8 million, and at present, Bayern is not expected to return with an improved offer for the 33-year-old England international. While Trippier was reportedly interested in joining former Tottenham teammates Harry Kane and Eric Dier in the Bundesliga, Newcastle has asserted its reluctance to sell the influential player.

Despite needing to navigate Financial Fair Play rules, the Magpies, under manager Eddie Howe, are determined to retain Trippier, who played a crucial role in their recent transformation. Trippier, who arrived at Newcastle for £12 million in January 2022, has been instrumental in the team’s success, leading them to a fourth-placed finish last season and qualification for the Champions League.

Despite a temporary dip in form during December, Howe believes Trippier, turning 34 this year, still has a couple of seasons of high-quality football left in him. While the Bayern move is off the table for now, Newcastle could face other departures, with Miguel Almiron reportedly set to join Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia, and AC Milan expressing interest in securing Callum Wilson on a permanent deal.
