Algeria’s decision to bench Riyad Mahrez backfires, shocking AFCON exit looms after Mauritania defeat

While Mahrez did enter the game as a second-half substitute, the absence of the talismanic winger was strongly felt at the beginning of the match. Belmadi’s coaching position is now in jeopardy.
