In a recent development, Tottenham Hotspur has rebuffed a bid of approximately £20 million from Al-Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club associated with Cristiano Ronaldo, for the services of Brazilian defender Emerson Royal. Despite the rejection, reports suggest that Al-Nassr is contemplating a renewed offer for the 25-year-old.

Emerson Royal, currently occupying a backup role behind Pedro Porro at right-back, has proven his adaptability by adeptly filling in at left-back and center-back, particularly in the absence of other players due to injuries. His performances have garnered praise from manager Ange Postecoglou, who earlier in the season credited Royal as one of his three best trainers, alongside Ben Davies and Oliver Skipp.

Expressing his satisfaction, Royal recently identified the center-back position as one of his newfound roles. Since he arrived from Barcelona in 2020 for just under £26 million, Royal has amassed 95 appearances for Tottenham, showcasing his versatility. In the ongoing season, he has featured in 18 matches, contributing four goals and two assists to the North London outfit.

Here is the highlight video of Emerson Royal’s skills.
