During a recent press conference, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel addressed De Ligt’s recent struggles in securing playing time. Tuchel mentioned that De Ligt missed the entire preparation, was utilized prematurely in the Supercup, suffered a significant injury, and subsequently, Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano solidified their positions. Tuchel emphasized that De Ligt, like any other player, needs to compete for his place, asserting the club’s plans to integrate him into the team, acknowledging his top-notch skills and character.
Reportedly, Manchester United has expressed interest in the former Ajax star. Erik ten Hag, who has previously worked with the 24-year-old, is keen on bringing him to Old Trafford to bolster the Red Devils’ defensive lineup.
