Napoli after securing Traore, books Cyril Ngonge’s medical examination

Napoli is actively engaged in the transfer market, with Hamed Junior Traore successfully completing his medical today for a move from Bournemouth. Additionally, reports indicate that Hellas Verona striker Cyril Ngonge is scheduled for his medical tests tomorrow.

Despite winning the Scudetto last season, Napoli has faced challenges under both Rudi Garcia and now Walter Mazzarri. In an effort to rejuvenate their squad during the January window, President Aurelio De Laurentiis is overseeing significant transfer activities.

A deal has already been finalized to bring Traore on loan from Bournemouth, with an option to buy for €25m. The former Sassuolo midfielder, who is the brother of Manchester United striker Amad Diallo, completed his medical today and is reported to have passed. The official announcement of his signing is expected tomorrow morning.

Simultaneously, Sky Sport Italia reports that Napoli has reached an agreement with Verona for the acquisition of wide attacker Ngonge, involving a transfer fee of €18m plus an additional €2m in bonuses. Ngonge has seemingly given his approval, and his medical examination is anticipated on Wednesday.

Despite interest from Fiorentina, Milan, and Aston Villa, Napoli demonstrated the most determination in securing Ngonge’s signature.

President De Laurentiis is not finished with the transfer dealings, as negotiations are reportedly ongoing for Fiorentina’s creative midfielder Antonin Barak. While Napoli prefers a loan with an option to buy, Fiorentina is pushing for an obligation to buy under certain conditions.
