Tottenham Hotspur has successfully secured the loan signing of German international Timo Werner from RB Leipzig until the end of the season. The 27-year-old former Chelsea striker, who struggled for consistency at Stamford Bridge, joins Spurs with an option for the North London club to make the deal permanent in the summer.

Werner, who will don the No.16 shirt, hopes to regain his form and secure a spot in Germany’s Euro 2024 squad. Spurs reportedly have the option to purchase Werner for a fee ranging between £13 million and £17 million. The move is seen as a win-win situation, with Leipzig benefitting from Werner’s regular playtime and Germany gaining a potential Euro 2024 contender.

Werner might make his debut for Tottenham on Sunday when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford under the management of Ange Postecoglou. The addition of Werner strengthens Tottenham’s attacking options, providing depth and competition as they continue their quest for success in domestic and possibly European competitions.
