According to Sky Sports, Anthony Martial, who has just half a year left on his contract at Old Trafford, seems poised to depart during the January transfer window. Turkish Super Lig powerhouse Fenerbahce has shown keen interest in securing his signature.
Reportedly, Fenerbahce has already tabled an offer of £6.8 million (£8.6m) this week and is in prime position to acquire Martial. Manchester United officials are deliberating whether to prolong his contract for an additional season by triggering a clause and then potentially loaning him out in the summer, with an option for a permanent transfer later.
Having joined Manchester United from AS Monaco in 2015, Martial has featured in 317 matches across various competitions, netting 90 goals. Following a brief loan spell with Sevilla in January 2022, where his performance didn’t shine, he returned to Manchester United for the 2022/23 season.
Apart from Fenerbahce, West Ham United and Inter have also shown interest in securing the 28-year-old forward. It remains uncertain where Martial will eventually land before the transfer window shuts. However, signs increasingly suggest that his future might not lie with the Red Devils.
