Jude Bellingham consistently breaches a LaLiga regulation whenever he takes to the field for Real Madrid. The Birmingham-born player has emerged as a standout in the Spanish league this season, shining brightly at the Bernabeu with an impressive tally of 13 goals. Surprisingly, he achieves this while sporting socks punctuated with holes—a direct violation of LaLiga guidelines.

As per AS reports, LaLiga expressly prohibits such alterations to socks, yet they seem willing to overlook this transgression when it comes to their promising young star. Bellingham isn’t the sole offender; even Gareth Bale resorted to the same tactic during his time playing for Madrid in the 22/23 season.

The trend of puncturing holes in socks gained momentum recently, particularly catching the attention of fans during the World Cup held in Qatar last winter. Footballers have adopted this practice as a means to alleviate pressure on their calf muscles, which often leads to cramping. Typically, players wear fresh socks for each match, but the material can be constricting, prompting them to resort to this modification.

The purpose behind these holes is to enhance blood circulation to the calf muscles by loosening the socks, aiming for physical benefits. However, the trade-off between functionality and appearance is apparent.

Despite the potential advantages, some players have faced repercussions for uniform infractions. For instance, former Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay was compelled to swap his altered socks during a LaLiga encounter against Barcelona back in 2017.
