Manchester United is reportedly considering Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo as a replacement for Antony, who has struggled to make a significant impact since his £85.5 million move in the summer of 2022. Kubo, a 22-year-old Japanese international, began his career in Barcelona’s La Masia academy before joining Real Madrid in 2019. Although he never featured for Real Madrid’s first team, Kubo excelled during loan spells at Mallorca, Villarreal, and Getafe. Real Sociedad secured his permanent signing for £5.5 million last season, where he has been a standout performer with 15 goals and 13 assists in 67 games.

Despite Napoli’s £26 million bid in the summer, Real Sociedad rejected the offer, holding a strong negotiating position with Kubo under contract until 2027. Manchester United, seeking a potential loan deal involving Antony, values Kubo at around £43 million. As Sociedad sits sixth in La Liga and advances in the Champions League, United continues to monitor Kubo’s progress.
