The head of security at the Norwegian nightclub, where Erling Haaland appeared to be asked to leave over the weekend, has clarified the situation involving the Borussia Dortmund player. A video circulating on social media depicted Haaland’s apparent expulsion from a venue in Stavanger.
Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, teased the 19-year-old about the incident, jokingly urging him to return to work and suggesting that the bustling nightlife might not suit him.
Christopher Naesheim, the manager of PSS Securitas, informed Bild that Haaland wasn’t intoxicated and was cooperative, understanding the circumstances after a discussion outside.
Due to Covid-19 regulations, the security team was mindful of the crowd around Haaland, anticipating fans seeking photos and conversation with him. Eventually, due to the overwhelming pressure from the crowd, they had to request him to leave.
Despite Haaland’s protests in the video, there haven’t been further repercussions from the incident. The concern stemmed from the Covid-19 restrictions in Norway, where gatherings of up to 200 people were permitted in public places, but individuals were still required to maintain a one-meter distance from those outside their household. This prompted worry about the gathering around Haaland.
