The Swedish coach strongly believed his team “deserved to win” despite their 1-0 loss to Spurs. Martha Thomas’ goal was the sole difference in the Women’s Super League clash on Saturday.

Following the defeat to their north London rivals, the Arsenal manager asserted that his team should have secured a victory, stating, “We should have won it. The most important aspect is what you create offensively compared to what we allow the opposition to create. Those things are strong in this game. The most likely outcome in a game like this is that Arsenal win because of the way we play and that’s the fact.”

“Most of the time we are going to win this match and we need to keep doing the things that leads to that. So it’s an odd feeling sitting here with that because of course we are very disappointed with that, disappointed with our efficiency but from a performance point of view, we played well enough to win the match and we should have won it.”

This win marked Spurs’ first victory over Arsenal in the Women’s Super League, breaking a five-game winless streak and achieving their first clean sheet in a north London derby.

Spurs’ manager, Robert Vilahamn, expressed his joy for the team and the club, acknowledging their competitiveness at this level. He praised their strong defense and hailed the brilliance of the goal they scored.

The Gunners will now have a brief hiatus before their next WSL fixture, set to take place against Everton on December 20, just over a month away, providing an opportunity for them to bounce back.
