Newcastle is swiftly emerging as one of football’s most formidable clubs, making it unsurprising that Adidas is keen to include them in their prestigious Elite category.

The German sportswear brand sponsors several renowned teams globally, such as Manchester United, Arsenal, and Real Madrid. Similar to other major brands, Adidas offers varying sponsorship levels to different teams.

The highest-tier clubs usually receive the Elite package, while they also have Premium (second-tier), Standard (third-tier), 3rd Party (fourth-tier), and No Direct Contract packages.

The tier a club belongs to determines the extent of kit-related benefits they receive. For instance, Elite teams enjoy exclusive ‘lifestyler’ kits and long-sleeve away strips, while clubs below the Premium level only have their kits marketed at a national rather than global level.

In September, Newcastle inked a multi-year deal with Adidas, who will take over as the club’s kit supplier in the upcoming season.

It’s anticipated that Newcastle will be designated within Adidas’ Elite club category.

They’ll be joining Premier League peers like Manchester United and Arsenal in this category, alongside global giants such as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Flamengo.

Real Madrid, Bayern, Arsenal, and United currently occupy the top spots in Adidas’ rankings, yet Newcastle’s rapidly rising stature since their Saudi-led takeover in 2021 suggests they might soon rival these top clubs.

Upon announcing Newcastle’s new partnership with Adidas, the club stated, “We are excited to announce that Adidas and Newcastle United Football Club have once again joined forces in a new partnership that aims to drive excitement both on and off the pitch.”

“This collaboration brings together two iconic names known for their history, innovation, and commitment to excellence within football. As Newcastle United Football Club embarks on a new chapter for the men’s and women’s team, Adidas is honoured to provide them with cutting-edge sportswear technology.”

“Our previous partnership delivered some of the most iconic kits of the 90s and we look forward to creating many more unforgettable moments, inspiring fans and players alike.”‘
