As reported in today’s print edition of the Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, Inter Milan has seen a change in their primary shirt sponsor for this season, with the US-based streaming platform Paramount+ taking the lead.

Since the conclusion of the previous season, Paramount+ has prominently displayed its logo on the front of the Nerazzurri’s shirts. Initially, this collaboration stemmed from a brief agreement struck for the last two matches of the prior campaign, including the significant Champions League final against Manchester City. This short-term deal became necessary as Inter’s partnership with cryptocurrency company DigitalBits collapsed during the season.

During the summer, Inter extended their association with Paramount+, signing a fresh two-year contract that secures the streaming service’s logo placement on the team’s matchday shirts. Paramount+’s branding has been a constant fixture on Inter’s shirts throughout Serie A and Champions League fixtures, maintaining consistency in appearance.

However, a departure from this uniformity is anticipated in the upcoming match against Udinese. The Gazzetta report indicates that Inter’s matchday shirt for this weekend will showcase the distinctive logo of the renowned “Transformers” franchise.

This gesture serves as a promotion for the upcoming movie instalment, “Transformers One.” While this Transformers logo seems to be a one-time occurrence on Inter’s shirt, it raises the possibility of similar-themed logos making appearances in the future.

This move echoes a past strategy employed by La Liga powerhouse Atletico Madrid during the 2003-04 season when they collaborated with Columbia Pictures. Atletico regularly changed their shirt logos every week to promote films produced by Columbia, such as “Spider-Man” and “Bad Boys II.”

Similarly, in the realm of La Liga, FC Barcelona currently enjoys a partnership with Spotify. The music streaming giant frequently features logos of prominent artists whose work is showcased on their platform on Barcelona’s matchday shirts.
