Erling Haaland is in hot water with the FA after strongly criticizing referee Simon Hooper following Manchester City’s dramatic six-goal showdown with Tottenham at the Etihad.
Haaland was furious when Hooper called a foul against him in added time, despite Jack Grealish being in a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Initially signalling to play on, Hooper then reversed his decision, leaving Haaland and his teammates shocked.
At the final whistle, Hooper was surrounded by players, with Haaland storming off the field after receiving a booking for his protest. Taking to social media, the Norwegian posted ‘WTF’, a move likely to draw a misconduct charge.
Guardiola chose not to openly criticize Hooper but admitted that the decision had sent him over the edge on the sidelines.
