Provedel’s reputation soared after being crowned Serie A’s top goalkeeper for the 2022-23 season. His global recognition skyrocketed further when he scored a crucial late goal against Atletico Madrid in a Champions League match this past September.
As detailed in Tuesday’s edition of Il Messaggero, Manchester United is eyeing the Italian international due to their dissatisfaction with former Inter keeper André Onana.
Scheduled to face Celtic in a crucial Champions League fixture on Tuesday, Provedel’s participation is in doubt as he has been battling a high fever for the past two days. In case he’s unable to play, backup goalkeeper Luigi Sepe might step in.
Provedel’s contract is set to expire in June 2027, and Lazio has reportedly pegged his value at €35 million.
The report also mentions that Lazio’s president, Claudio Lotito, had initially pledged a contract extension for Provedel at the end of the previous season.
