In a harrowing incident, footballer Mario Balotelli narrowly avoided serious injury after crashing his £100,000 Audi Q8 into a wall in his hometown of Brescia. The terrifying accident occurred around 8:30 pm on Thursday, with no other vehicles involved.

Reports from SportMediaset suggest that the 33-year-old former Manchester City striker allegedly refused to undergo a breathalyzer test following the collision. Italian newspaper Fatto Quotidiano detailed that Balotelli lost control of his Audi Q8, resulting in a collision with a wall, and triggering the deployment of airbags. Medics quickly responded to the scene.

Balotelli, who previously played for Liverpool and dated Belgian model Fanny Neguesha, managed to exit the wreckage and was attended to by paramedics on-site. Local authorities reportedly attempted to administer a breathalyzer test, which Balotelli declined, leading to the confiscation of his driving license.

Enock Barwuah, Balotelli’s brother and a footballer himself, arrived at the crash site after returning from training with his local team. He subsequently took Balotelli home.

The incident comes as Balotelli, now playing for Turkish side Adana Demirspor, is back in Italy, recovering from an injury.
