Wrexham’s commendable reaction to Accrington Stanley’s increased ticket prices for their supporters has garnered praise. The Red Dragons are set to play Stanley at the Wham Stadium in League Two today, expecting around 2,600 away fans from north Wales.

Stanley decided to elevate their usual ticket fees by £5 for the significant number of traveling supporters. In a swift response, Wrexham announced this morning that they would be reducing ticket prices for the return match at the Racecourse Ground in March by the same amount to offset the increase.

This move resonated positively among fans of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s club. One supporter humorously referred to it as “S***housery for the common good.” while another commended the club’s ongoing class.

“Great comeback in a positive way,” remarked a third fan, while a fourth applauded, “Stay classy @Wrexham_AFC… show the world how it should be done.”

Surprisingly, even rival fans were impressed, with one admitting, “As much as I hate Wrexham, this is class.” and another acknowledging, “Haha can’t lie, this is amazing! Well played lads.”

Stanley owner Andy Holt defended his decision against criticism, explaining, “If there was only a couple of hundred of you today I’d be happy to do the same. Unfortunately costs are very high for this game. “Big policing bills and stewarding big stewarding costs. I appreciate what @Wrexham_AFC are doing for our fans though.”

After expressing surprise at the timing of Wrexham’s announcement, he added later, “When costs are already high @Wrexham_AFC the last thing football needs is stupid mistimed statements.”

“It’s surprising how stupid given a former CEO of @EFL is employed by you. Let’s have a great day for all fans safely, whatever the outcome on the pitch. Welcome to @ASFCofficial.”
