Regarding the issue that led to Hojlund’s late second-half substitution, Ten Hag stated, “At this moment, I can’t provide any information because I’m not aware. We are conducting an assessment, and we need to wait 24 hours for a conclusion. We’ll give the medical team 24 hours to determine the problem, if there is one.”
Injuries have been a persistent challenge for Ten Hag’s team this season, and midfielder Eriksen may join the list after being substituted before half-time. “He slipped, but the process remains the same – we need to assess, diagnose, and conclude before we know the extent of the situation,” explained the United manager.
Both players are part of Denmark’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Slovenia and Northern Ireland, but their participation remains uncertain. The team needs just one win in the final two games to secure qualification for the tournament.
