Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta, has shared insights into the injury status of Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard ahead of their upcoming matches, including the Champions League clash with Sevilla.
Gabriel Jesus, who delivered a strong performance in Arsenal’s last away game, will unfortunately miss the Champions League match against Sevilla. The Brazilian forward sustained an injury following the game and was absent from the recent match against Newcastle. Despite fitness concerns, Jesus has been called up to represent Brazil against Argentina.
In addition to Jesus, the condition of Martin Odegaard remains uncertain. Arteta explained, “Gabi is not fully fit and Martin is not sure. The rest is fine. There is no news.” Odegaard missed the 5-0 victory against Sheffield United and had a substitute appearance in the game against West Ham, given his injury. He was also sidelined for the defeat to Newcastle. Odegaard, like Jesus, is set to join his national team.
Arteta also addressed the injuries of Smith Rowe and Partey. Smith Rowe sustained an injury during the Carabao Cup defeat to West Ham, a matter of concern for the coach. Partey, on the other hand, suffered a thigh injury during a training session last month, and reports indicate that he could be sidelined until the end of the year.
