Fans were quick to tell Mohammed Kudus that he seemed “beyond West Ham’s league” after his remarkable acrobatic goal against Brentford.

In the Premier League clash, David Moyes’ squad made the journey to face the Bees on a Saturday, and Kudus left the travelling supporters in awe with his incredible goal.

The Ghanaian player, who arrived in the summer from Ajax for £38 million, continued his impressive start at the club.

Despite West Ham falling behind by a goal just 11 minutes into the match, when Neal Maupay scored for the hosts, Kudus came to the rescue just eight minutes later with a sensational acrobatic finish from Michail Antonio’s cross.

A looping cross from the left found Kudus, who displayed remarkable athleticism as he leapt into the air, executing a scissor kick that left Mark Flekken, Brentford’s goalkeeper, with no chance as the ball nestled into the far corner of the net.

Fans were left in disbelief by Kudus’ extraordinary goal, with one fan expressing on Twitter, “He’s too good for West Ham,” and another commenting, “KUDUS making an impact!” Some supporters drew comparisons between Kudus and his former Ajax teammate, Antony, who made an £86 million move to Manchester United.

One fan questioned Erik ten Hag’s decision to sign Antony over Kudus, stating, “Coulda signed him instead of Antony tbh,” while another added, “He cost 40m and Antony 100m btw,” and a third remarked, “Antony must learn.”

Kudus’ goal marked his second in the league in only his second start, with the Ghanaian also finding the net in the midweek EFL Cup victory against Arsenal. After being gradually integrated into the squad by Moyes, Kudus is now flourishing, and West Ham is reaping the benefits of their patience with him.

Jarrod Bowen soon added the Hammers’ second goal, putting them ahead 2-1 in the first half. However, a second-half turnaround saw Brentford regain the lead, courtesy of an own goal from Konstantinos Mavropanos and a third goal from Nathan Collins.
